Oak & Anchor Pottery
Dean Orlosky is a lifelong maker of hand crafts, with a concentration on hand-thrown pottery. He founded Oak & Anchor Pottery in order to explore the intersection of crafts and fine art through the medium of clay, creating work that is elevated, present-day, yet values the qualities of being created by hand, never manufactured.
His pottery takes inspiration from traditional New England forms and functional pieces, with a focus on sturdy vases, thickset bowls, and utilitarian vessels. His glazing techniques reflect his passion for modern color studies, playing with proportion texture and bold geometric shapes.
Whether used functionally or as objects to behold and admire, his work is created to bring brightness to any environment. Each piece stands alone, but you may notice that en masse, they appear to energize each other — inviting you to engage, mix & match, and be appreciated as a distinctive body of work.
